I have forgotten my password, I am the only Administrator on the computer. The only other user is just a standard user and cannot reset my password. When I try to add a new user through the command prompt, I kept getting a "System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied". I have already tried to do it through safe mode with command prompt also. Does anyone know how to reset the password without re-installing the OS? Jennifer
I have two old Thinkpads running Win XP that my husband got a long time ago from his employer. Both have VPN software installed as they were used to work from home. Problem is, my husband no longer works for them and I can't get past the VPN log-on. I would like to just completely wipe the hard drives and start over, but I don't know how. Can anyone help? Hi all I am trying to find the source of a problem, I am unsure if its Thunderbird or a change to some Rootsweb lists I use Thunderbird and am very happy with it This problem is regarding reply list/reply all/reply In TB there are those three options Reply List = brings up a reply with the list address in the To field Reply all = brings up a reply with all address the original was sent to Reply = brings up a reply to the sender (not the list) I have always been in the habit or using reply all and if its an off list reply I delete the list address and any other I was not intending to send to Of late (I couldn't say how long) on some rootsweb lists (but not all) when I select any of the three options I only get a list address, and not the original posters address -------- A small update - I just tried a few list posts and find it even happens with posts to the same list, ie when I use reply all on one previous post to Computers list it gives the list and the sender, but on another to Computers it only shows the list address Anyone have any thoughts on this please -- Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK)

This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Since you can scan approximately 50/minute, that would make scanning original document, kids school work, letters, etc. much faster then my desktop scanner can. The desktop takes about 1 to 2 minutes to scan a page. Does the software really organize the papers so that I could keep census records for a family together etc? Any thoughts appreciated. Hi Bea, Are you saying that you cannot see the Folder Name where the JPG files are stored? First... There are a number of ways to search for files in Windows 7. How are you initiating a Search? Are you clicking on the Start Button and entering search criteria (i.e. *.jpg or JPG) ? If so, you will see a short list of results, but if you want to see a more detailed list, click on the SEE MORE RESULTS link. This will open a more detailed view, similar to Windows XP File Manager. There you should be able to see the Folder where the JPG File is stored. Let me know if you need more help. There is a good resource from Microsoft here... http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows7/find-a-file-or-folder Regards, Kevin. I have misfiled some jpgs. I can find the buy using the SEARCH in Win 7, but there is no URL showing where the files are actually in. Is there some place to click (etc) to make the directory show up? At present all I can do is make a copy of the photo, and paste it into the directory I want it in. That way I now have two copies, one I don't want - wherever it is. :-( Thanks for any help anyone can suggest. Bea
Hi Barbara, I am a bit confused in that you are saying that you have a 20.5" width opening, but you have validated 2 monitors, each of which is less in width than 20.5. I assume that you mean that the SPECS for the 2 new monitors are â20.1" & 20.14" (which would be on the diagonal) . Regardless, you will either have to find manufacturer specs that tell you what the entire width of the monitor is OR you will need to physically measure them. This is due to the fact that size of bezels varies widely between makes. Regards, Kevin. ââ Sent from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone. I hope someone can explain to me how monitors are measured. I need a new one but all the sizes don't make any sense. I have an opening that is 20 1/2 " wide X 17 1/2 " high that the monitor has to fit in. I am looking at 2 different monitors one measures 20.1" wide And another one is 20.14" wide The height on both of them will fit it's the width I don't understand. Will either of them fit in the 20 1/2 opening? Barbara
We are mixing apples and oranges here. You have a physical dimension to work with so screen size will not help you at all. Go to Amazon.com and search for computer monitors. When I dis the search, an ASUS 22 inch monitor was the first one listed. If you scroll down the page you will find: Product Dimensions: 20.2 x 7.9 x 15.2 inches. In this case, it will fit your available space. Check out the two you are looking at look for the PRODUCT or PHYSICAL dimensions.
