Hi Joe Try clearing temp internet files and cookies It often cures this sort of problem I use Ancestry and just tested an image which loaded and then downloaded with no problem Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 24/12/2013 19:55, Joe Snow wrote: > Wondering if anyone else is having problems getting Ancestry.com to load the images and save them? > > Joe
Nivard. I will try the IE version and see if that makes any difference. I will wait until after the holidays and get with Ancestry on this matter. Thanks for your help. Hi Nivard. I use Firefox and thought that I tried that before but I tried it again. Same results. It will go to the black page where the image would come in but quickly leaves that page and goes back. I tried it on IE. I also tried it on MaxThon, Chrome and other browsers still the same results. I don't know what the answer is. Hi Marti and All, Thanks for your reply. That's interesting to know. At one time I decided I could "cure" my problem by deleting the emails in my spam folder. But then one time it didn't work and I concluded, eventually, that it was only coincidence that it had appeared to work before. I look at my yahoo account daily as some of the "spam" emails turn out not to be spam. But I have never thought about deleting the contents of my inbox. I believe those entries are not actually on my computer, except when loaded by Windows Live Mail, and often subsequently deleted there, but they are links to where the email originally came from in cyberspace. But I am not certain of this. I would be interested in opinions as to whether it is necessary to delete old messages in my Yahoo account. I obviously do in my Windows Live mail account but they are still there in Yahoo. Hi Nivard, Mary and All, Thank you for your replies. It has decided to work now without any changes on my part. I don't think it is the provider because it rectifies itself - EVENTUALLY - without me contacting them. When the computer was under guarantee I used to be able to phone up and they would sort it out by changing something in my settings over the phone. The trouble was windows would come and go so fast that I couldn't follow what they were doing. So if I knew what to change I could do it myself. The problem has not arisen for a year or two and now it is back. I don't really want to change systems as I am familiar with this one. So if anyone knows what I need to change the info would be very welcome. I've had the same problem with Windows Live Mail. If I wait long enough, sometimes it will start working again - but sometimes it doesn't.
