    2. Thanks to all who responded to my email re the above. I had not received a notice to the effect that Netscape was changing. Read all the material suggested but did NOTHING. This a.m., for some reason, the home and what's new screens changed to new material. Will see what happens the next time I log on. Thanks again.

    1. [COMPUTERS] Netscape woes
    2. Kevin Several years ago AOL purchased Netscape and made it part of their company. They did nothing for several months. The last version of Netscape Navigator released had Mozilla components. AOL moved netscape mail to their mail system. Netecape.net became a mail forwarder to AIM.COM. Over a year ago they announced AOL business plan was changing. One of the things was discontinuing support to the Netscape browser. That was a while ago and you had time to try several alternatives. Of the two dozen computers I support everyone has changed except for one person on some of their older machines. Paul

    3. With respect to AOL & Netscape, I do know that AOL owns Netscape, however, what I was referring to is not knowing how tightly woven Netscape is in AOL's business model. For instance... Are they planning on recommending a switch to Firefox if they are ending support for Netscape ? I am just not that familiar with AOL, as I have consciously stayed miles away from the company and their proprietary model. Just my thoughts... Regards, Kevin. 3. That in mind, is it possible to make the switch from Netscape to Mozilla Firefox or MS Internet Explorer? Firefox is the natural extension of Netscape, although Firefox is a much better product and has been fully updated and secured. I am just not sure how this all relates to AOL. Regards, Kevin. 2. When I sign onto the Internet (Netscape), the "Home" page and the "What's New" window do not change and have not changed for approximately two weeks. News, headlines, weather, pictures, everything has remained the same. I called Netscape, of course, and the first time they had me going through hoops which did nothing except wipe out my screen name and pass word so that I had to put them in again. The 2nd time, I was told to go to AOL and click on the "feedback" link in the upper right corner but that does not work at all--for me, at least. Maybe there is nothing anyone can do to help with this problem, but I would like to know if anyone else is having it or if it is my computer acting up--again. Thanks.
