Thanks Nivard and best wishes to you as well. Does one need any Adobe program at all? I guess this is a question that I can Google and find the answer myself. Appreciate your help. Ok, thanks. I just happened to notice that both IE7pro and IE8 are listed in my add/remove so wasn't sure if I should remove 7. ----- Original Message ----- From: David C Abernathy NO, IE 8 should just install of the top of it. You can only uninstall IE7 if you upgraded to IE 7. Then when you uninstall IE7 you would have IE6. Thanks, David C Abernathy Email disclaimers
Me too. Should IE7pro be uninstalled? ----- Original Message ----- From: LNiemannG@navix.net Well...I don't know the answer to your first question. In my ignorance, I guess I thought 8 would override 7.
Hi Lila, Did you upgrade to IE8 or are you running it along with IE7 ? Can you say what website you cannot access? Regards, Kevin. Well...I don't know the answer to your first question. In my ignorance, I guess I thought 8 would override 7. I accessed this Website before the download: http://www.archive.org/stream/historyofhenryfu00aldr and now I get to the page, but nothing but the headers load. I went back to Google, searching "william h. bestor" and found this: Full text of "History of Henry and Fulton counties, Ohio : with ... William H. Bestor, Cornelius Carder, Peter Doiibenmycr, Dudley T. Fields, Henry Gear- hart, James Garretson, ^Alexander Henry, Jasper L. Jones, ... www.archive.org/stream/historyofhenryfu00aldr/historyofhenryfu00aldr_djvu.txt - Similar pages Clicking on the above takes me to the site which takes a little while to load. On the left is a "view the book" option, and before IE8 it just popped up, with a search blank, and I could find William using the search blank provided. I may be able to view it in PDF and that may even be more satisfactory, but it was so easy the day before yesterday. I hear a lot of Pros & Cons about IE8. It sounds like it is just as good as any IE Browser ever was (!!!). I use Firefox myself. I am a web designer and I design around Firefox as it is THE most standards compliant browser out there, which means that, from an end user standpoint, you will have the most success viewing web pages as they were meant to be seen and, therefore, you will have a more satisfying experience on the Internet. Just wondering if you have tried Firefox or are you required to use IE ? I would use Firefox or Opera before IE. IE is only useful when doing anything specific to Microsoft, such as Microsoft Updates... Regards, Kevin. Before I download IE Ver. 8 I would like to know the pros & Cons. Has anyone here tried it yet? I have Ver.7 and am please with it so I was wondering if there is enough changes to warrant the new ver..
Yes, I have installed it on a couple of machines and have been using it with Windows 7. Since you are using IE 7 you will not see a lot differences, but for the security improvements, it will be worth it. Hi Kevin, Thank you for the help. I will check it out. I am still not sure how I ended up with this program. I run XP and from what I read Windows Live Mail is a Vista program. I recently installed Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student but I don't recall selecting any Live Mail program, but I guess it could have installed by default. Windows Live is a suite that isn't tied to any specific operating system. It IS possible you installed it by default, many programs get on systems that way. ALWAYS use 'custom' when installing things, so you KNOW what's included, like crappy toolbars!

Hi Listers, Is it possible to turn off Windows Live Mail? How do I do that and does it cause any problems if I do? My OS is Windows XP with full updates and I run O.E.6. I recently upgrade to Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student and this seems to have occurred since then. It seems to have less features than O.E.6. too. I am on a large number of mailing lists and having the splash screen come up prior to opening every email is sooo annoying! Regards Judith
One of my banks is touting the free Rapport security software from Trusteer. See <http://consumers.trusteer.com/learn>. Anyone ever heard of this or used it? Thanks, Lynne
