    2. Can someone please tell me how to eliminate the above? This screen keeps popping up when I am in the middle of something. I have never used it and I don't want it! It is very annoying. Thanks. Joe

    3. David I don't select "the Temp" area. I select "My Documents" or a file I have created inside it then I am told it has been saved in the "Temporary Internet Files " for my security and then I can't find it afterwards. I've tried doing what Kevin said but I can't find the "show hidden files & folders" option. Vista is installed on the "C" drive. 2. Robert Wilson
    3. Hi I gather that getting one spam a day rules out using MW. I also get very little spam, but here is how I use MW. The first thing I do each day is open MW. All the emails are marked for delete. I don't have the "Lists" listed as friends so I see all the List mail. If someone asks a question I can't answer (most of the time) and I am not interested in the reply, I don't undelete it. I don't undelete legitimate offers from companies I do business with if I am not interested them. I also don't undelete messages that I can read in the preview pane that don't require any further action. This brings up your comment that Subject Titles don't always give enough information. In most cases the Preview pane usually does. My mail this morning is a good example of what I am talking about. I first had seven emails, six of which were on "Ancestry Images" for which I have no interest. Two more checks of MW had eight more emails. Of fifteen emails, I undeleted two for download. Without MW, all the emails would have gone to the Inbox where they would have to be deleted manually. You will probably say this isn't a big deal, but I say why bother if you don't have to. Now, as to Peter, who is getting a lot spam. I think that MW with its Filtering, Blacklist, and SpamCop will eliminate a lot of his spam plus he can use it for the reasons stated above. And, I don't think this going "round the bend" or using "sledgehammer to crack nut" Also, I can see that this email takes longer to explain what to do than to actually do it. I also think that this email will have little effect on anybody. People that like MW will continue to use it and people who don't will not. 3. Hi Peter, You may want to try to denote the Web Site you are getting the data from as a "Trusted Site", as follows... Regards, Kevin. ---------------------------------------- http://www.technipages.com/ie7-file-was-saved-to-your-temporary-internet-files-folder-error.html You may get the following: For your computer’s security, this file was saved to your Temporary Internet Files folder. Do you want to open this folder? If you click Yes, the C:\Users\user_profile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Virtualized folder opens, but the file you are saving isn’t there. To solve this problem, perform the following steps: 1. Click Tools > Internet Options. 2. Click the Security tab, then click Trusted Sites, and click Sites. 3. Under Add this Web site to the zone type the URL that you want to save. 4. Click Add, click Close, and then click OK. 5. Under the Security tab, uncheck Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer). After you restart Internet Explorer 7, the problem should not occur again. 3. Hi Peter, Don't forget that, in Vista, you have to "Unhide", these directories, as it seems they are hidden by default. To unhide... Note, that you will have to change the settings of Windows Explorer to show all kinds of files (including the protected system files) in order to access these folders. Assuming that your Vista is installed on the C drive. To see it, not only do you have to check 'show hidden files & folders' option in the Folder Options, but also uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files/folders' option. So... run Windows Explorer and do the above o you can see the hidden folders... Regards, Kevin. 3. I have recently purchased a new computer with Vista and now when I try to save a census image it tells me it has been saved in the Temporary Internet Files Folder but when I do I can't find it afterwards even when I do a search. The only way I can get around this is when it asks if I want to open the file I say yes then have to click on a few files to locate it and then drag and drop it to where I want it. It is rather a pain as you can imagine so what do I have to do please so it will save in the correct folder with the usual one click? Thanks Peter

    3. Hi Peter, >From what source are you saving the census image? Instructions on where you can find the the Temporary Internet Files Folder are here... http://www.winvistaclub.com/f11.html Where is the Temporary Internet Files folder located? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Windows Vista, the 'Temporary Internet Files' folder is located at: C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files Assuming that your Vista is installed on the C drive. To see it, not only do you have to check 'show hidden files & folders' option in the Folder Options, but also uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files/folders' option. But wait a sec, where is the index.dat file ? To access it, you will have to type in Explorers address bar the following location and click go: C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 Only then will you be able to see the index.dat file. Conclusion ? The Content.IE5 folder is 'super' hidden! Regards, Kevin.
