    3. Thanks to all who answerd with suggestions. I will do some reading on the ones recommended and get it downloaded so I can get some updates taken care of. One of the updates told me, based on my speed they detected, the download would take 8 hrs. Maybe one of these will cut that down some. At least it would be great to pick up where I lost my connection. Thanks again, Jo

    3. Hi Jo, I would recommend Leech Get. It is a very good download manager You can get the Free or paid version. The main difference is that in the Free version you have to wait until you have downloaded your first selection before selecting anything else. The paid one you can have a number of downloads queued up. I have tried a number of different ones and Leech Get is both stable and easy to use. You will find it at http://www.leechget.net It also has a resume function so if your connection drops off for whatever the reason it will resume from where you left off. Hi Lloyd I can't answer your question on Genealogy Bank as I have never heard of it but for future needs, the SSDI is available for free on familysearch It sounds like you should be complaining to Genealogy Bank asking for a refund as you had cancelled >From their site :- The Social Security Death Index contains over 84.1 million death records for individuals with United States social security numbers. 1. [COMPUTERS] Vista problem?
    2. Patricia Owens
    3. Hi, Is anyone else with Vista having trouble saving death cert. images from Family Search Labs? I try to save to file and it brings up the box, but the "Save as" file is blank. I even tried saving it anyway, says it's saved, but nothing there. I went to my other computer-XP and had no problem. Is there something else I need to do with Vista? This is the first time I've tried to do this with Vista. Thanks. Patricia Owens

Of course, I removed it from there and put it back in the INBOX. Just thought you might could use a smile for the day ..... Molly6374 P.S. Hope you get this and your e-mail doesn't put mine in the JUNK FOLDER!!! 3. Hi Bob I agree with all you say, there is not, and doubt there ever will be a one size fits all solution With the lists being so quiet at present, even with being on over 50 lists I download only around 35 mail at present after a 7 or 8 hour gap overnight , by comparison to over 300 not that long ago from the same lists Even at its height of volume of mail I could see no use for mailwasher but thankfully we have free choice and what suits me may not suit another user The problem I find with deleting batches by the subject line is that I might not be able to help with the first few but may have input on some of the others, once you delete the first few (without downloading) means you have to go to the archives to find what the whole thread contains, with downloading and deleting I still have them in the deleted folder to read should I want to The good thing about discussing these things in a sensible way onlist is that those who have never tried the likes of Mailwasher or whatever can make a more informed choice as to its suitability for their needs One mans meat is another mans poison :-) Best wishes Nivard Ovington, in Cornwall (UK) > Hi > > I gather that getting one spam a day rules out using MW. It is very annoying. ************************* By default, Windows enables "always dial a connection" - which some people find handy. They open IE (for example) and the dial-up automatically starts. To turn this option off, go to "Control Panel" and then click the "Connections" tab and select "Never dial a connection" tom
