    3. I agree with Rachel.  Just be warned that the file can be quite large. If you are not going to be using the old system, keep in mind that you could also add the OLD hard Dive to the NEW system as a backup drive and copy all of the files from the backup drive to the new drive. You will still need to re-install all of the programs you want to use on the NEW system. Regards, Kevin. 3. Hi Janet, Are both PCs running the same operating systems? How are you connecting to the Internet (Cable Modem, Dial Up...) When you say "everything" do you mean all DATA? You can definitely copy the data from one PC to the other, but, programs will need to be re-installed on the new computer. Regards, Kevin. 1. [COMPUTERS] Gumblar Malware Exploit Circulating
    2. Joan Asche
    3. US-CERT Current Activity Gumblar Malware Exploit Circulating Original release date: May 18, 2009 at 12:47 pm Last revised: May 18, 2009 at 12:47 pm US-CERT is aware of public reports of a malware exploit circulating. This is a drive-by-download exploit with multiple stages and is being referred to as Gumblar. The first stage of this exploit attempts to compromise legitimate websites by injecting malicious code into them. Reports indicate that these website infections occur primarily through stolen FTP credentials but may also be compromised through poor configuration settings, vulnerable web applications, etc. The second stage of this exploit occurs when users visit a website compromised by Gumblar. Users who visit these compromised websites and have not applied updates for known PDF and Flash Player vulnerabilities may become infected with malware. This malware may be used by attackers to monitor network traffic and obtain sensitive information, including FTP and login credentials, that can be used to conduct further exploits. Additionally, this malware may also redirect Google search results for the infected user. US-CERT encourages users and administrators to apply software updates in a timely manner and use up-to-date antivirus software to help mitigate the risks. US-CERT will provide additional information as it becomes available. ==== This entry is available at http://www.us-cert.gov/current/index.html#gumblar_malware_attack_circulating Produced 2009 by US-CERT, a government organization. 3. Hi David, Thanks for the help I appreciate it. I did do that but even though I clicked apply and ok it reset to Windows Mail. Fortunately another lister who had the same problem of Live Mail taking over, resolved it by unistalling the live mail component which I have now done also ...another Microsoft `wonder product' has now bitten the dust! Much to my relief as I found the whole thing very frustrating. I use Outlook Express and for some reason it has been `hijacked' and now my emails open in Windows Live Mail. 2. Like I said, I signed up for two months, found a lot of info. I needed then decided to unsubscribe for a few months until I gathered enough names to warrant paying for another month or two. Of course I continued using the SSDI when I needed to search for a SSN. They charged me for the month I only used it for SSDI. I had to go to My Account and unsubscribe again. I sent them an e-mail the first of the week asking why they charged me, but they have not responded. I am washing my hands of them and gone back to using Rootsweb SSDI and FamilySearch. 3. Hi Jo, Most Download Managers will download from up to 5 different sites at the one time thus your 8 hours will be substantially reduced. It does depend on how many mirror sites are available but you should certainly notice a big difference and the resume function is really helpful.
