Carolyn I run Spyware Doctor and Norton Internet Security and haven't had any conflict problems. And you are right, Norton Antispy detects very little spyware. A tracking cookie now and then. Hi Carolyn, I used to have Norton Antivirus on my computer and un-installed it two years because of problems. I currently use AVG antivirus which is available FREE. It is one of the top rated antivirus's and does an excellent job of protecting my computer. As mentioned, it is FREE. Give it a try. Download it first from the internet, save it to your download file, then un-install Norton and then install AVG. Check cnet.com for the download and you can see how it is ranked. Hi Listers, I came across a website on the net which had a family tree set out as a chart. It has the usual boxes and lines connecting it, however on the right hand side of each of the names is the individual number for that person in red which is actually a hyperlink which then opens to another box with the birth, marriage and death info. Question 1. What program does this? Question 2. Is there any way of importing this into Exel and having it work and if so how? There are about 150 names in the tree. Regards Judith

I always perform a search on my C: Drive to locate a file that I have misplaced. Run Windows Explorer Right Click on the Local Disk (C:) (under My Computer) Select Search... You can now search for a file based on various parameters (i.e. date, name of file, size of file, etc.) Your My Documents folder is located here... I did a search through My Documents, and found many more of them than I thought I had. I followed the directions that you sent me the link for, and hopefully, won't see them again! Can anyone suggest a good (free, preferably), program which will alphabetize and merge a web page? I have a very large cemetery survey (done as tables) which was done in sections due to its size. I would like to merge it so that it is all one instead of 11 (eleven) sections. Appreciate any suggestions.
I have Googled for this information, but am still somewhat confused and would appreciate some actual experience here. I want to buy a wired/wireless router for the house. I currently have 3 computers hooked up to a wired router and want to keep that set-up with the new router. I currently plan to use an iPod Touch and a new laptop with the wireless. The router must be located in a far corner of the basement. I have no choice. A kid at BestBuy said the wireless-G probably would not work well in the basement and that wireless-N would be better, but I'd have to make sure the wireless devices were compatible with Wireless-N. I have read about antennas and boosters. Need advice. Vanessa Stern

Janet, You can purchase a "file sharing cable" at an office supply store and it works very slick (costs maybe $20 if that). It is a short cable - maybe 2 feet with a 'hub' in the middle that's about 1" around. The cable will come with a sheet that explains how to hook up each end, install the program to do the transfer of files and walk you through it. I did this when I transfered files from a PC to a laptop a few years ago. You do need 'usb' ports on each computer..don't know if there is such a thing as an adapter if you don't. Slower way is to copy records to CD to load on the new computer. I don't know if you are also looking at installing programs...you may have to install them on the new PC by downloading them from websites. I transferred PAF files, photo files and tons of other files with the cord and it was a snap. Jayne -------------- > Good Morning! > > I just purchased a new desktop computer.
