1. [COMPUTERS] Yahoo search on Firefox
2. This page didn't turn out right with Plain Text, but it was a description of the AVG Security Toolbar. Separate from the Navigation Toolbar, the AVG toolbar has it's own Yahoo search area that takes special precautions when viewing Web sites. ------------ Search the Web! This box allows a direct search through Yahoo! where the LinkScanner™ technology will flag any dangerous or questionable sites, safe sites will show on Yahoo! as usual. AVG checks search results in real time and any other web links you click on. You find out right away which links are safe and those that may cause you problems. Try it now! Type in a keyword and click Search button to search the web. ----------------------- Bill Reace Robyn Waymouth <waymouth@ihug.com.au> said: Hi Bill, I've hidden the AVG toolbar - I just can't see the point of it - and have therefore got rid of it's search box, and now have Google nicely reinstated as my search engine. 3. I accidently deleted my Google toolbar when I was trying to delete that AVG toolbar that makes Yahoo my default search engine (careless, I know!). I have tried to download the Google toolbar and it downloads but it won't install. I get this message: "Google Toolbar Installer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Happens every time I try. I suspect that there's something already on my hard drive that prevents its installation, just like there was a remnant of Ancestry's Enhanced Image Viewer that had to be removed before it would install--and what a lot of steps that took. Any ideas about how I can get Google back? 3. Hi, I've recently upgraded my AVG free virus protection and my computer seems to have been hijacked by Yahoo. I open Firefox with Google set as my home page, but now I have an AVG toolbar, which I don't want. I can close it easily enough, but Yahoo seems to have taken control of the small search window up next to where you type URLs. I use that a lot, and I don't want Yahoo - I'm a Google fan. Thgere are some other situations where instead of automatically going to Google, I get stuck with Yahoo. Any ideas on how to clear this out? Cheers, Robyn

3. Hi Barbra, May I ask the versions of software you are using? Windows Browser (IE or Firefox) Comodo Ar all of the software versions up-to-date ? Thanks, Regards, Kevin. If you update Comodo to the latest version and it still happens, there are a few things that can be done... 1) Ask this question on the Comodo Forum. http://forums.comodo.com/index.php 2) On the forum you can also get information on doing a "clean install" of Comodo, which means that you would remove Comodo from your system and install the latest version from scratch https://forums.comodo.com/comodo_system_cleaner_fileregistryprivacy_cleaner-b124.0/ 3) There is also Live PC Support here... https://forums.comodo.com/live_pc_support_geeks_ready_to_help_247365-b169.0/ On Sun, Jul 19, 2009 at 11:10 AM, <Barbraseb@wmconnect.com> wrote: > > In a message dated 7/19/2009 8:00:05 AM Pacific Daylight Time, > DaveA@schmeckabernathy.com writes: > > > > How do you connect to the internet? > > If by cable or DSL then you are using a network to connect to your modem > > and > > or router. > > No, I have dial-up and am not net-worked. Thanks, Dave. > > > > :-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~: > > Take pity on Digest subscribers and remember to SNIP when replying. > > :-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~:-~: > > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to COMPUTERS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message -- -------- K. 3. Hi, When you launch WinZip and open the "large zipped file of photos", one of the options you have is to extract. One of the options within the extraction is to choose the folder you want to use. While one of the choices is to use the folders that the original photographic images were stored in, there is another option to choose your own folder. Your own choice can be a new one - for example - "My Photos/new". You need to WATCH CLOSELY when installing ANY program, AND use 'custom' if offered (where you can uncheck the 'install this junk'). Go to control panel>programs, and see if you can uninstall it there. Or, in IE7, go to Tools>manage add-ons, and you might find it there.
