Yes, I was on the right list. After I found out (not from the list) that FTM would not print to file and open in an editable program, I gedcommed everything into PAF and deleted FTM from my hard drive. I know it makes some fancy charts, but PAF does everything I need to do. There may be a new version of FTM that does what I wanted at the time. Nivard, do you have a URL for PAF so that I can download the program? The FTM list is what I subbed to, and no one answered my plea. Later I found out that what I wanted to do is not possible with FTM, or was not with the version I had. I continue to use PAF, which allows pedigree charts and family group sheets to be edited in Word. Hi Stan, No, apparently it's because I needed to put a comma after the surname. It doesnt matter what you type after that! Regards Judith ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stanley M. Hi Listers, It turned out to be quite simple. Just put a comma after the surname before adding Jnr, Snr or any other title you need. Eg John Jones, Jnr which is then recorded in the index as Jones, John, Jnr Regards Judith ----- Original Message ----- From: "Judith" <judith.bn@bigpond.com> To: <computers@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, August 08, 2009 9:27 PM Subject: Family Treemaker problem > Hi Listers, > > Not sure if this is the right forum but can someone > tell me how to make Family Treemaker [version 15] > show Jnr. or Snr or II after a name? The tech list for FTM is just that - technical. I think most here would do much better on the other rootsweb FTM list:FTM-request@rootsweb.com. Some of the same experts are on bith lists bit the rregular FTM list is much easier to understand. Bonnie

Hi Listers, Not sure if this is the right forum but can someone tell me how to make Family Treemaker [version 15] show Jnr. or Snr or II after a name? I have tried Editing Facts and typing that into the Title on the Facts page and clicking okay, but that simply puts Junior in front of the name in the Genealogy Report and nothing shows up in Family Group Sheet or Outline Descendant View which is where I want it to. Obviously I am not doing something right here. Regards Judith
Could it be because the customary abbreviations are Jr. and Sr. ? Hi Judith Type the name and then a comma and then JR Herman Dale Bishop. JR You can join the Family Treemaker list by e-mail. send an email to FTM-TECH-request@rootsweb.com with the word subscribe in the subject and body of the message. I just typed Jr behind my name on my family page. It then appeared correctly on both the reports you mentioned.
