    3. I have Acronis TrueImage installed, and have a question about it. I live in tornado alley but am away from home a lot. I take the hardware, which is the size of a large paperback book, with me. Do I have to take its power cord and the USB cord along? If disaster happens at home, will it be possible to order another cord or borrow cords so I can retrieve my data? Unhooking everything is unhandy. 3. I am new to this list, as of today. And was hoping, that my question was appropriate to this list. And you have just answered the question, that I had, about my back-up, from my XP program, on my desk top computer, to Vista on my laptop. I was wondering why it wouldn't work! So now my other question! How can I get my Family Tree program information, from my XP back-up, onto my laptop, with Vista? I have lost my Family tree information, from my desk XP computer, so decided to install the disc on my laptop, hoping to get my tree back. Any ideas? Once you close your account with Earthlink, it's dead, including your old email address. Some ISPs can make arrangements for your Email to work for at least a while, but they often charge some fee for that. Ask them. Earthlink MAY have a deal where you get a discount for still using them by the Verizon access, but again, it won't be free.

    3. Hi Judith, You can try a File Recovery program like this one... http://www.pcinspector.de/Sites/file_recovery/info.htm?language=1 More discussion here... http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-data-recovery-file-undelete-utility.htm As well, please be sure that you are using the "Safely Remove Hardware" ICON in your System Tray to "Stop" activity on your Flash Drive before you remove it.  Many times data is written to the Flash Drive well after you have stopped copying files to and from the drive. It is important to stop this activity before you remove the Flash Drive or you may only partially write a file to the Drive, potentially causing some corruption.  This may be a reason why you have a corrupt folder ?!?!? Regards, Kevin. 3. Hi Dorothy, It depends on what he wants to use the saved drafts for but if he wants to be able to read them without his email program then he would need to convert them to a text file. In Drafts, just open each email in turn and click on File, then `save as' and where it says `save as type' select .txt instead of mail and choose the flash drive as the place you want to save it. I cant see anyway of saving the lot in bulk if you have to convert them to text unfortunately, so it will be a little slow if he has 200 he want to save.
