I have a small McAfee program (came free with something). Last week it gave me a message twice, with a button saying "Fix Now". That took me to their site to upgrade to a paid site. The message was - - - 1 Dangerous Websites These websites were found to have significant risks: 31.44.185.211 I assume this was reporting I had stumbled onto a website that posed a risk, but I have no ided what one, or how to cope with it without buying their program. I have not saved any web pages to my computer, and my computer seems to be working fine. Any suggestions? Bea

Hi Bob and All, With a little tech help I have now changed the default program for opening this type of file from HP MediaSmart Photo to Windows Live Photo Gallery which gives me sensible options like "Zoom In". The attached image doesn't have a "Download" option Bob, but I saved it as an attachment and was then able to change the default program which now applies even when I haven't saved the image. Many thanks for all the suggestions. Thanks for your reply Bob. I do not get the option Download as Zip file. Try this... Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Properties / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device. Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply > click Start > Reboot. Hi David, Thanks for your reply. I'll bear your remarks about the scan in mind when I have time to experiment. The attachment I have received appears to be a photo based on how I can open it. When I "View slide show" I get a window, the only options being Thumbnail view or Full screen together with the option to proceed to the next photo, if present. Looking at it full screen I can just about guess at most of what it says, based on prior knowledge. Or I can double-click on it and then it opens in HP MediaSmart Photo which has options like fix red-eye and rotate but nothing I can find to enlarge it and it is smaller in that view. If there is a zoom command it is extremely well hidden! Thanks again for your reply, Christine -----Original Message----- From: David C Abernathy Sent: Monday, September 26, 2011 4:24 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [COMPUTERS] Changing a photo of text to something readable The standard for ALL scanners is to scan as a image and then be saved as a image. One can also run a OCR program which most scanners come with, and the scan then can be saved as a Word or any other word processor type of file. These small images that you have, when they are open, look in the lower right corner, there may be a slider in which the zoom scale can be increased. You may need to also look at the menu and toolbar areas as there may be a Zoom command there. TuneUp360 is an another semi-all-in-one pc tool suite that may assist you in comprehensive fields such as pc performance checking, registry cleaning, privacy protection, disk optimizing, system optimizing, network optimizing, shortcut cleaning. I hope this isn't getting too far off topic, but... I don't understand this coupon business. I did google the term Bob suggested and found the site offering coupons. What I don't understand is what they're getting out of the deal. It's not Malwarbytes offering the coupons, but they're offering a large discount if you have a coupon code. My suspicious mind suggests there's a payoff somewhere and some part of it may not be to my advantage. Does anyone know how these deals really work?
