I don't use the master password on RoboForm except on my personal profile. I find it very helpful and fast. Just turn off the master password and you won't need to type it again. My personal profile has my credit card numbers, So I use the master password for that one account. If you have more questions, feel free to email me off list. PS, I've used RoboForm since version .9 meaning before its full release... :) -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, November 29, 2011 4:42 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [COMPUTERS] turning off predictive search in google Kevin .... Hi again So when you go to the cog symbol You have search settings ? Under Search Settings (headed Preferences) a little way down , one option after the Safe Search Filtering options is Google Instant Two settings I have just checked cookies held under Ccleaner , none for Google ! So now I am baffled I should just also clarify , under my previous usage Google kept *my* search history, but now its ignoring that and adding predictive suggestions instead Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Hi Nivard, > > Sorry for the confusion... Hi again I keep certain cookies in Ccleaner and delete all others running Ccleaner every night and when a web site proves troublesome Generally it has worked pretty well until now Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Hi Nivard, > > I delete all cookies every day... just wondering why you do not? Its not under FF (I also have 8.0.1 now) Its on the google home page under the cog top right which gives settings Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) >I can't even find an option for Google Instant under Settings (FF 8.0.1) >
Hi again I will try selective cookie deletes first , I am loath to delete them all :-( Will try later Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Was just reading this Nivard... try clearing all of your cookies !
Thanks Kevin but no it makes no difference I did wonder if I cleared the old saved gmail cookies and try again >From google searches it appears to have been a problem for many since early 2010, why it suddenly started with me is I think down to the FF upgrade which i am wishing I hadn't done now Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Hi Nivard, > > Just a thought... if you are logged into Google/Gmail... you may try > logging out and back in... perhaps some sort of reset is required > after you make a setting change ?!?!? > > Regards, > Kevin. >

Hi Faye Thanks for your reply That would turn off auto complete for Firefox browsing though The theory is that on google home page there is a little cog top right which when clicked gives search settings for google Scroll down a little and there is a selectable setting :- Google Instant Use Google Instant - predictions and results appear while typing (&) Do not use Google Instant I select Do not use Google Instant and save preferences But still it does it, if I go back into settings, its still selected as I wish but it has no effect Baffling for now Bing here I come Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Nivard, I'm using XP and on Goggle home page, I am able to change it as > follows: Tools>Internet Options>Content>Auto Complete>Settings. > > Hope this helps. > > Faye
Hi all A peculiar one that I can't seem to resolve For the last few days I have been lumbered with googles predictive text type searches Where you start to type and it "predicts" what the site is you are looking for, it really drives me round the bend I have looked at settings and have google instant turned off, yet it does it anyway I have turned it on , saved settings, then turned it off and saved again yet no effect Anyone have a clue what it might be ? I use Firefox and XP Any help appreciated before I bin google and use Bing instead On googling this appears to be a long term problem for some, this has only just become an issue for me in the last week I suspect it coincided with upgrading to the latest Firefox as Ancestry have now added a usable enhanced viewer I have checked googles forums but all they seem to do is vent their anger on google but google does not respond or fix the problem Any thoughts ? Where the heck did "View Source" and the FTP aspect come into this. He has an HTML file, which doesn't have to be on a remote server, and I don't recall him saying anything about how he viewed the file... But maybe I am wrong ?!?!? Hi Joe, If I understand you correctly... If you were able to copy the TEXT file over to the Flash Drive then it is not a "Write Protect" issue. How are you trying to copy the HTML file? Is it the same way you copied the Text file ? You should be able to use Windows Explorer and just drag the file from your C: drive location to the Flash Drive. Regards, Kevin. I was on the GMail Home Page !!! I see Google Instant now... So many COGs !!! Regards, Kevin. As I am using my mouse I often get this little bell that goes off and the message box down on the task bar says "The touchpad 'synaptic device' has been turned off because it detected another pointing device that has been plugged into your computer" This is slowing down my usnig the mouse and is annoying because of course I know that another device is plugged in - what can I do about it? When I bought the mouse the salesman did something to disengage the mousepad, but I don't know what it was. Anybody have an idea? thanks, Joan -- You ask what is our aim? I can answer in one word: victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terror. Victory however long or hard the road may be. For without victory, there is no survival. Winston Churchill, May 1940
