PC Matic is a SCAM. NO ONE can realistically promise you that they can speed up your computer without knowing WHAT you have, and how you run it.

    1. [COMPUTERS] Problem using Open Office
    2. Joan Arc
    3. This problem started occurring recently When I finishcopy and pasting in Open Office document and then hit ENTER often a dark double line appears and several if I hold down the Enter key too long. Then I have to go to EDIT on the Menu and Undo, but I can't move down to enter something else without it happening again. ; . This is so annoying because I will use lot of ink when I print out the document. It doesn't happen in evefry Open Office doc that I open. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks for any6 thought how to stop this. Joan

    3. Sorry, but softwareindustryreport.com is not a Trusted Site on Web of Trust... You have pointed this user to a site that is very suspect. http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/softwareindustryreport.com Site design is a mess, review pages not listed on the "home" page "home page" reviews that fail to lead to the site being "reviewed" LOL and the English is poor... " In my experience, it is almost always the user who causes their system to have problems when using "registry cleaners". I believe that the concept is a solid one, but, YES, the user cannot indiscriminately delete files or registry entries without knowing what they are used. Registry cleaning and optimizing has a place in the IT Toolbox, but MUST be used carefully. So, with all due respect... I do not concur with your opinion of Registry cleaners. Regards... 2. Hi Nivard, In the past when AOL wanted me to change files or let them into my computer to make the changes themselves, I never allowed it and in time the problem solved itself. Both the site manager and myself believe it is also a missing cookie that is the problem. I don't know how to correct this. I was able to enter the site by using my laptop and Internet Explorer. I use road runner on my laptop with a different email name and password but when I accessed the site I wanted, I used my AOL address and password name, I entered the site without a problem which I think tells me it is AOL's problem, not mine. I can also use AOL on my laptop and access the site OK. I talked at length with two different techs at AOL but they don't get it. I don't use CCleaner, I use something called Disk Cleanup which a tech working on my computer years ago installed for me and it has always done a good job without a problem. Thanks for your response and suggestions. I have often used the "switch off and switch on" to correct problems in the past and often it has worked but not this time. 2. Thanks for the message. I went to "Windows Secrets" and have been reading it and it is easy to understand and sounds helpful. I clean out my cache file and run disk cleanup on a regular basis but when Windows updates my computer I can read the updates but haven't a clue what they are doing. Sometimes I am missing a file afterwards or have difficulty entering a site using my password. Right now I cannot enter one site with my name and password although I can enter every other site where I am registered. AOL has given me instructions to reinstall AOL in order to correct this problem but the site owner and myself believe that AOL itself is the problem and must correct it on its own rather than have me reinstall AOL. In the meantime I just received my notice to pay my dues for another year which I intend to do because it is a good site and holds an interest for me. 3. I'm afraid to download Picasa. Someone talked me into it once before and it created a mess...it found every picture on my hard drive including some in temporary files, those that appeared in ads as I surfed the Internet, too much for me to handle. Getting rid of all this stuff was such a hassle that I uninstalled it. I just don't see Picasa as an option for trying to compare two pictures and no more. I guess I'm too old for this, and sorry to create all this discussion on the list. I would accept an offer for someone to look at my two scans and offer an opinion.
