Hi Kay If its happening when you try to go to any site it does suggest some nasty has taken your browser over Does it happen with all bookmarks? What is the name of the site you are taken to ? Have you ran malwarebytes or any other malware software ? If you get to the site you require and then bookmark it again, does that bookmark then take you to the odd site ? It sounds like your computer is infected with a trojan. I suggest you do a full scan with your antivirus. Also full scans with Malwarebytes Antimalware and Superantispyware, both free programs. Good luck. Joan A. Greetings When you highlight the bookmark page, is it the correct 'URL' that shows or is it wrong ? Hello Barbara, It was nice to hear from you anyway. I thought maybe I was off the list. :) I haven't used IE in many years. I do use Google Chrome. Hello JLA, When I open my browser, my home page comes up, then if I want to go to another site and I click on my bookmark bar, the page that comes up is not the one I clicked on to open. I have to "x" out that site and when I select the site that I want to go to it comes up that time. The same thing happens if I am searching, some strange site comes up first. Win. 7- Firefox or Google Chrome either one. Kay Friday, May 3, 2013, 8:21:35 PM, you wrote: > Kay, > What tab on what website? Hi ????? I read your post and deleted it as it did not appear to make any sense to me I have just reread it in the archives with no better result Perhaps if you explain what you mean it may help others to help you A name also helps :-) Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 03/05/2013 21:35, PastTracker wrote: > Hello Computers, > > Just wondering if I have been black balled on here, I ask but maybe no one knows how to help me? Kay, What tab on what website? You will really need to clear about what's going on because this is mailing list with no tabs or webpages and unless you give us complete information no one is going to understand the problem. Are you using IE or chrome? Sounds like your home page got changed but I'm not good at giving instructions on how to fix that. Hello Nivard, The problem is, when I click the tab to go to a different web page, it goes to something I've never tried to find. If I "X" that page then click on the one I want it works that time. Hello Computers, I have tried to find something but so far no clues. I use Win. 7, Firefox 20.0.1 and when I click on a bookmark etc., I get a page that WOT says is bad, I have to click out of that tab, and the next time it goes to the page I wanted in the first place. I know I have some sort of problem just don't know what it is or how to fix it. Your ideas and suggestions would be most welcome -- Best regards, PastTracker mailto:pasttracker@windstream.net ======= Email scanned by PC Tools - No viruses or spyware found. Hi I have AVG for virus protection and I find it excellant, but this past couple of days I have been getting a notice from them to say that it has detected a virus SWF/ Agent P and then removes it but the question is what is it??? TIA Pam
After a shopping trip I was still getting the pop ups So rebooted after running Ccleaner So far so good :-) The old adage of switch it off and on again seems to be still working <vbg> Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 28/04/2013 09:24, Nivard Ovington wrote: > Hi all > > Using Win7 with Thunderbird and Avast > > > Switched on and went to open Thunderbird to download my mail this morning > > I got this message in a pop up window

Thanks Bud The same pop up is coming back periodically, if there is a pattern I can't fathom it out, perhaps its cycling every few minutes? I certainly haven't changed any settings and the server address is the valid one, both outgoing and incoming I was more concerned there was some sort of intervention but it seems like its a handshake problem (for want of a better expression) Its good to know others have had problems in a similar way Thanks for letting me know I can only recall one similar happening some years back and that was a certificate being out of date until it was validated Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Thunderbird (and a few other clients) have had problems with GMail security > certs. > > As long as YOU didn't change the server you're connecting to, it shouldn't > be any > problem to add the exception. >
