I don't have IE10, but a search says to use 'add/remove programs' (OR 'programs and features') in the Control Panel to remove it. Alternatively, in IE, go to 'tools>manage add-ons', and remove it there. Easier might be to DL FireFox or Chrome or Opera, and use one of them.

1. [COMPUTERS] Internet Explorer v10
2. LIst .... 4 or 5 weeks ago Microsoft put a pop up squarely in the middle of my IE 10 home page, the one which first opens whenever I open IE 10. The first two lines read: Congratulations! Your new Bing Bar is ready to use. There is no "X" (close) button anywhere in the popup, only an "OK" in a red square in the middle of the pop up. Also there is no "Right Click & Delete" for the pop up. I can get rid of the Microsoft Pop Up by clicking the OK button, but I have to do that EVERY time I open IE10. Any suggestions? (other than changing browsers which is too much trouble). Or better yet, Any Solutions :-) . Thanks, Joe Lake

1. [COMPUTERS] "Stuck" Page In 23andMe
2. Jane Gillespie
3. My mother's page on 23andme which announced when her results where ready is "stuck" Yesterday the page announced that her results were ready. Then due to a problem, that was changed. The problem was solved by 23andMe, and the page was changed back to show results where ready. My computer still shows the page that results are not ready. Other members in my group show that the results are ready. I can't get the results now from 23andMe because my computer page is showing results not ready. I have cleaned out recent history and cookies in FireFox 21. I have Windows 7 and I went to the "systems and security" and "system maintenance" and ran that under administrator and it was suppose to fix problems. I also changed over to Internet Explorer browser and that made no difference. I also sent a problem ticket to 23andMe. It might take up to 5 days for them to get back to me. I didn't want to have to wait that long if I could get help from someone on this list. How do I clean out the cache in Windows 7?? Will that help. Any help or suggestions is appreciated!!! Jane

3. Computers puzzle me daily. I started over at Ancestry and found a different image and clicked save to computer. Then I clicked on the bar that says, "To protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files from your computer. Click here for options...." There were options, and I clicked on "Download file." After I got rid of the "...protect your security..." banner, I had to click save again, then after a short while it gave me an option to open or save, and I clicked open, and it downloaded a .jpg and opened in my photo program, just like it worked when the old viewer was in use. A few more steps, but I'm back in business. I believe there's an option that would allow me to eliminate the warning about protecting my security, but I won't do that for a while, at least. 3. Thank you, Nivard. I should have mentioned that I'm using XP. I found a couple of Folders labeled "Download" but the image is not in either of them. I had no opportunity, from the Save function on Ancestry, to say where I wanted the image to go, so I still need more help. There was a message above the image that I had to click on before the image would download, and I clicked that, but still no opportunity to say where the image should be saved on my computer. 1. [COMPUTERS] Downloading files with Firefox
2. Lloyd Hite
3. Hello List, Due to the fact that I am on dialup, I have to use a download manager when downloading files. It has been working fine until a couple of week ago when It would not download. I tried several different files with the same results and even tried the built in downloader. However, the IE browser would download them ok. I have installed the new firefox update and that did not help. I have recently installed Webroot AntiVirus and Firewall so naturally I thought one of them was the problem. I disabled them and tried to download a file, still had the problem. Can anyone please suggest a fix for this problem? Lloyd P.S. The download managers I tried were GetRight and Star Downloader. They both would download files with IE but not with Firefox. ____________________________________________________________ 1 Weird spice that FIGHTS diabetes Can this unusual "super spice" control your blood sugar and fight diabetes&#63 http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL3141/519e6b88d92486b867b9bst03vuc

3. Hi Lila I have been avoiding the new viewer as I hate the little pop up boxes all over the place, telling me things I already know and obscuring the image (and yes I have told Ancestry many times what I think of it) However I have just tried it on an 1861 census page just to see what the save function looked like The Save is top right and selecting it gives two options, Attach to someone in my tree OR save to my computer I always save the image to a folder for that name on my computer I selected save to my computer and it gives the same default as it always has, I did a sample save and it worked exactly as before When you get the option, Save to my computer you need to navigate to the folder where you want it saving (I have one per family name ) So I suspect your default would be Downloads (I am assuming here that you are using Win 7?) If so, click the start button and in the resulting search box, enter Downloads The first hit in the list should be the downloads folder, select that and you may find your missing images You could then move them to wherever you wish to as normal Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 22/05/2013 19:46, Lila Garner wrote: > Ancestry.com has a new image viewer. Hi Jane It sounds like you have inadvertently set Zonealarm as your home page Open firefox Open tabs for the pages you want open when you start firefox When tabs are open as desired, go to Tools > Options > General Where it says Home page with a url just under it select "Use Current Pages" Then OK at the bottom The next time you open Firefox it should open only the pages you had tabs open for Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 21/05/2013 23:25, Jane Gillespie wrote: > Every time I switch to a new tab in FireFox 21.0 I get a ZoneAlarm > search page. 3. For some reason the find/replace search feature in my Open Office doesn't work. I used this feature a lot to find info on a subject I had copied into my Open Office files. Has anyone had this happen or do you have an idea how this suddenly doesn't work? I'd appreciate any suggestions or thought thanks much, Joan You ask what is our aim? I can answer in one word: victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terror. Victory however long or hard the road may be. For without victory, there is no survival.
