    2. Rae Jean
    3. Using XP Home. When viewing folders: C:\My Computer\Local Disk (C:)\Documents and Settings\Rae Jean (the other 2 user folders are "All Users" & "Default User") When folder named "Rae Jean" is highlighted -- if I right click on mouse, I can select rename. My question: Is this the method a person should use to rename a user folder? This seems too simple and I wonder about the implications of renaming my user folder this way. -- ~ Rae Jean

    3. Does the following sound legit? I have ignored it trying to find some info on it. For a couple of days, when I open FireFox I get an opening page that has --- 1) a toolbar (black) with WEB | Images Videos News | More | powered by Bing. 2) Then a logo of MiXiDJ 3) an empty field and a Search button 4) an ad which reads --- Clean Your PC Highly Recommended Scan and remove Windows7 errors Clean your system and Repair all Errors and Bugs. Make your PC run like new in a few clicks 5) A button which says - "Start Download Now" 6) Followed by (logo) and Windows7 and FF's "logo" I looked in the control panel and there were three items connected with MixiDJ, two seemed to be programs, and one was a tool bar. I uninstalled each, but the MixIDJ is still there. And the "ad" to clean my computer is still there. I cannot get rid of either the ad or the MixiDJ logo (the MixiDJ seems to be a music site.) Hope it is legit, not a virus. Can anyone suggest a cure? Thanks for reading this, Bea

    1. [COMPUTERS] Next Oxfordshire FHS computer meeting - Monday 5 August 2013
    2. Colleagues The next computer meeting of the Oxfordshire Family History Society will take place on Monday 5 August 2013. It will be held at the usual venue at Exeter Hall, Oxford Road, Kidlington, Oxford OX5 1AB. Doors open at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. The subject of the talk at 7.30pm is :- "Beginning Blogging – make yourself a WordPress web site". This will be presented by Malcolm Austen. Malcolm has told me that in recent times, over 20 per cent of new websites have used WordPress. The software is free, and is easy to install if you already have a web hosting package. But it is also free to sign up for a site using WordPress's own hosting system. Whilst WordPress started out as a blogging tool, it is now a general purpose Content Management System, which means you can create any website with little or no knowledge of web technology - and you can have a blog as a bonus! Malcolm will take you through the basics of getting and using a free site "yours.wordpress.com". If time permits, he will then go on to look at the additional freedom of installing WordPress in your own hosting package. Our speaker Malcolm Austen is the society's webmaster, and has been a member of the executive committee for over a decade. As an IT professional, he has been at the forefront of many of the society's IT initiatives, such as the setting-up of our new blog at http://news.ofhs.org.uk/. For those who live "out of county" or who are otherwise unable to attend the meeting, the usual detailed synopsis of the talk will be published in the "Oxfordshire Family Historian", the journal of the Oxfordshire Family History Society, which is issued to members of the society three times per year. All members, potential members and their guests are welcome to attend the meeting. For directions as to how to get to the Exeter Hall, please see :- http://www.ofhs.org.uk/ExeterHall.html For a list of future OFHS meetings, please see :- http://www.ofhs.org.uk/meetings.html Any queries, please contact me. 3. To convert table to text: Open Document Click on the table, In Word 10, the TOOLBAR RIBBON pops up. Click on LAYOUT, then CONVERT TO TEXT (I tell it to use tabs if I want to make the columns line up or I use a ~ and then I can replace the ~ with whatever I want with FIND AND REPLACE) Another way you can do it is to select table (Control+A) and format the borders with no color, and they will be invisible. Not hard at all, really. spc On Tue, Jul 9, 2013 at 3:03 AM, Annette Watson <annete@aapt.net.au> wrote: > Hi everyone, > > Could someone explain (simple speak) how to move data from > a table to a plain page omitting the rows & columns. >

Hi Bobbie It appears to be the flashy adverts that cause it to lock up As you say sometimes it locks up the page for a few seconds then carries on, often the advert carrying the error message in its space, other times it minimizes the browser window, maximise the window again and it opens OK As you say, sometimes you get the feeling it has a life of its own Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 03/07/2013 22:30, Bobbie Smith wrote: > Hello, > > I have been having the same problem for some time now.
