Dear Carolyn: I show your James Compton, born 10 Mar 1810 in Laurens County, SC, and he married Nancy Pool, born 1811. Their 8th. child was named Charles Orr Compton. I believe I got my data from Charles Compton email ccompton@coosavalle.net I show the father of James Compton unknown. There were Crumptons living there also in 1790s so I am not sure about the name Compton/Crumpton. I am sure you will hear from Charles, as he has worked hard on your Compton line. I suggest that you subscribe to Compton List; a great group of folks. Sincerely, Dan Crumpton email gen@Thomson.net -----Original Message----- From: CRAFTHAUS@aol.com <CRAFTHAUS@aol.com> To: gen@thomson.net <gen@thomson.net> Date: Tuesday, August 10, 1999 12:55 AM Subject: Family Search >I am researching my husband's family.
