For years I have been trying to locate the family of Henry Compton's wife Mary Horner. Henry was son of Stephen, grandson of Samuel, born Oct. 21 1798 in South Carolina, died Nov. 20, 1880 in Greene Co. OH. his family was part of the group of Quakers who moved from the Bush River area of South Carolina to the Miami Valley of Ohio in the early 1800's. He and Mary were married August 20, 1818, in Greene County, and she died 10 years later after the birth of her 3rd son, Martin. All I know about Mary's background is that she was a Methodist and came from "a pioneer family of Greene County." Henry was a Quaker and was disowned for marrying contrary to discipline. After Mary died he married Katherine Mock. If anyone can give me information on Mary Horner's family I shall be most appreciative. Bill Compton
