Hello! I'm just beginning the research for my Compton line and wonder if any of what I have might sound familiar to anyone. My Great Grandfather was Levi Louis Compton. He was born in July of 1857 in Pennsyvania (possibly Hawley). I don't have the names of his parents, but his father was born in New Jersey and his mother was born in Pennsylvania. Levi was a carpenter by trade. He married Mary Ann Lewis in about 1889. I don't have the names of her parents, but her father was born in Wisconsin and her mother was born in either Canada or England. They had 16 children-Laura Bell (b. July 1, 1890 in Chicago, IL); John Russell (b. April 19, 1892 in Chicago); Bert Louis (b. Jan 27, 1892 in Chicago); Robert Ellsworth (b. Oct. 2, 1896 in Chicago); Dorothy (b. June 1898 in Chicago); Ella Mae (born April 1900 in WI -probably Neenah); George (b. April 27, 1906); Mildred Pearl (b. December 23, 1910 in Neenah, WI); Clara, Ethel.
