Jeanne, I have a Joseph born in 1844, who's father was Joseph Douglas Compton. I don't know where young Joseph was born, but his father JD was born on Sept. 16, 1809. Eventually, his son James Duncan was in Indiana, as he is my ggrandfather. Same line, perhaps? Wouldn't that be nice?? Let me know if this is of any help as I'm more than willing to share!
