Jeanne and Sharon: I found a website at http://home.att.net/~amickey/ that lists the children of Baner/Banner and one child (Bethel) of Ebenezer (b. 1772/3 pos. NJ) who were sons of William and Rachel Compton. You might want to check out this page. I have not been able to verify or disprove. In a message on this list sent by Don Raney 3/1/99 he lists ten of the same children for Banner. Another message sent by John Compton 1/15/99 shows two Ebenezers listed in the 1790 Census, Rockingham Co., NC, one apparently married, the other not. His website is http://members.xoom.com/desotojohn/index.htm My interest is in Baner/Banner. I think his daughter Polly(Mary) married George Washington Wilson in 1827 in Adair County, KY, but have not been able to prove the connection. Would be glad to exchange what information I have found.
