Am descended from Augustus [Augustine] Compton from Culpepper Co, Va. born ca 1750/1755 and think he is son of Zachariah Compton and Mary Middleton. Served in 6th Cont. Line and 10th Cont Line 1777-1783 - wounded Battle of Brandywine. Moved to Nelson Co [Lincoln Co] Ky where he married Ann Threlkeld 14 June 1784. Died late 1789 or early 1790 leaving widow and 3 children. Would like to know more about his parentage and earlier Comptons in Va. Charles R. Craig
