Charles, I have Zachariah COMPTON in my files but no Augustus. Of course this doesn't mean your information isn't correct as my data is far from perfect. This said, here is what I have: Children of Zachariah COMPTON (b. March 19, 1738/9 in Charles Co., Md.; d. 1790, Culpeper Co., VA; m. 1777) and Mary MIDDLETON: 1.Howard, b. July 7, 1777, d. Jan 30 1866, m. Elizabeth YATES, Jan. 23, 1800, Culpeper Co. 2.George, m. Sarah DUKE 3.Daniel, b. Aug 1, 1779, d. Oct 18, 1860, Culpeper Co. As you can see, I have the marriage date for Zachariah as 1777 which is about 20 years off your data and his birthdate in 1738 would make him an extremely young father for your Augustus.
