My father, Charles Arnold Compton, was born in Mingo Co, WVAA. His father, William Wesley, was born in Boyd Co, either Ky or WVA. His father, Joseph, was born in either Ohio or Kentucky. They traveled the Monongohelia River(I think my spelling is right?) from probably Pa. My grandfather was in well drilling (water mostly) and my father was in gas measurements.I have them on the census for 1910 in Mingo Co WVA,Hardee area and my grandmother, who was a Maynard, was a young girl of 12 living with a James H. Compton.Her mom and dad had divorced after the 1900 census. I hope that you have something that I can use - I have hit a blank wall because my grandparents moved a lot and always rented.
