John Compton (b.ca. 1780 Eng. - d. 12 Dec 1847 Baltimore, MD) and wife Mary Ann Seymour (b. May 1787 Eng. - d. 21 Apr 1880) came to Baltimore between 1810 and 1820 with at least one child, daughter Ann (b. 29 Aug 1808 - d. 19 Sep. 1884). Am trying to locate John's English origin. The Seymour descent is from Bitton, Glos. via Plymouth, Devon which may be a clue. One family reference gives John a middle name of Bliss, but it is uncertain how accurate this could be.
