I am holding an 1877 Laurens County, SC Probate Court document referencing the estate of Sarah Compton. Her maiden name was Owens, with siblings Thomas and Mary. They were the children of Mary Owens; the father is not named. Mary (the mother)died intestate and Joseph Nabors was appointed guardian of the children and received a small legacy belonging to the children. Joseph Nabors then died intestate, and his wife Polly Nabors was appointed administratrix. An S. L. West then became the legal guardian of Sally Owens and filed a petition and order for accounting and "to show cause" to Polly Nabors as adx. of the estate of Joseph Nabors, reference the sum of money or property due Sally Owens (who was by then, Sally Owens Compton). This document shows connections for the Owens family, history for the Wests and Nabors, and I would like to know what Compton line she (Sally Owens) married into.
