    3. Hi Cousins: I have just finished a two week study of the microfilmed minutes of the Church my ancestors attended. (I assumed they attended this particular Church as that was where a few were buried). This particular Church's records (Langston Church, Laurens Co., SC) went back to 1832 and spanned into the early 1900's. I ordered the microfilms to be sent to my local library on what is known as an "inter-library loan". Your local library knows all about how to do this. I have learned more about my ancestors and their neighbors from those records than I can describe. I learned history, customs, law, and better yet, I now see these faceless ancestors as real people, with hurts, feelings and even grudges...just like you and me. I saw the handwriting of my G G Uncle, who was the clerk of the church (the person who wrote the minutes), slowly degrade over the years as he was elected repeatedly to this job. Back then, worship was a big part of a families' life. If you aren't sure to which church your ancestors belonged, pick a few close by where they lived and order microfilm records for all of them. Look through the films and see if you find your surname. (I can about guarantee you it won't be indexed). I strongly suggest that you have a look, there's no telling what you'll find. This has "pumped" a tremendous NEW life into my genealogical research which was getting stale, boring and seemingly, fruitless! Do yourself a big favor and find what church your people attended and order those records ! Then, SHARE SHARE SHARE ! Charlie Charles S. Compton 466 Roberts Circle Lincoln, Al., 35096
