Hello List, I research the COMPTON surname, my mother was a Compton, and I also research my husband's line of McNeely. I have not seen any mention of a Compton/McNeely connection, but decided to check it out on the list. A family member gave me a letter he received in Feb. 1978 from a Mrs. Harry F. Brown of Oklahoma City, OK. Mrs. Brown said William "John" McNeely of Adair Co, KY, married an Elizabeth Cumpton and they had a son, Cyrus, and a daughter, Jane. Wm.
