My Compton line goes back to Augustine COMPTON, b. abt. 1750 in Virginia, d. abt 1788 in Kentucky. He married Anne PAYTON THRELKELD, daughter of James PAYTON and Susannah THRELKELD. Anne was the widow of Moses THRELKELD. Augustine and Anne had three daughters; Mary (Polly) b. 11-12-1785 who married William YOUNG (my line); Winifred b. 2-15-1887 who married Richard HARRELL; and Theodocia b. 3-15-1788 who married James SHAIN.
