I am searching for the parents and siblings of William Russell Compton b 22 Dec 1844, d 1 Sept 1877 Mechanicsville, Warren Co., IN. M Rebecca Jane Cronkhite (b 22 Jun 1852, d 17 March 1906 in Palo Alto Co., IA) on 24 Sep 1868 in Warren Co., IN. I have found the marriage record but it does not say where he was born. Some of the descendants believe his father's name was Marshall but I have been unable to verify that. He had one son, Ora, who named his son Marshall. I found a Marshall Compton who was born in Ross Co., OH and died in Warren Co., IN who was married to Asenath Foster who also died in Warren Co., IN. Does anyone know if they had a son named William Russel? This has been one of my brick walls for quite some time. Any help would be appreciated. Beverly in Texas
