Compton and my Father was James L. Compton, sadly I cannot claim those from Galveston, but it is a might discouraging to hear of the cause of death. I live in Pensacola FL and we have been mighty popular with the hurricanes of late. I do know my Great Aunt Goldie Compton spent her entire life in Texas. As to her linkage and place of origin, this I do not know.My Father was born in Yazoo City MS. If there are any links to the Comptons in that area, I would be of interest. His Father was Joseph Pyle Compton. That is as far back as I go. My Grandfather had 2 brothers that I know of, Charles and Arthur. I know Joseph P. Compton was born in 1902, in MS but where and the month and day, I do not know.
