Augustine Compton, Rev soldier from Culpepper Co., Va, was in Nelson Co., Ky in 1784. In 1785 and 1786 apparently in a joing household with William Peyton and his wife. William became of age in 1786, Augustine had married Ann Peyton [L-6] 14 June 1784 in Lincoln Co. she was the dau of James Peyton and Susannah Threlkeld and Ann first married a cousin Moses Threlkeld ca 1780. They had a son Peyton Threlkeld born Aug 1781. Ann was a widow so her husband died ca 1783. Augustine became administrator of her husband's estate July 1786 but died before it settlement. Augustine died in Nelson Co ca 1789. He and Ann had 3 or 4 daughters: Mary b 1785, Winnifrod b 1787, Theodocia b. 1788 and perhaps Susannah b. 1789. Ann married a thir time in 1791 Alexander Bryant in 1791 and they had a dau Rutha Bryant bornin 1791. The will of James Peyton 1789 does not include a William Peyton. Who was this Wm and perhaps wife who lived with Augustine and Anne? Chas Craig
