Clark, this information is in HISTORY OF DAVIDSON COUNTY TENNESSEE, By W.W. Clayton and was published in Philadelphia in 1880 and is on page, 443. My daddy visite and talked with all the Compton relatives, who were the oldtimers in the 1930ties and his grandmother was living and he visited her during all vacations and the entire summers when he was growing up. I still have notes that he took while visiting with people when he was grown. He, also, did a lot of research at the courthouse, etc. What a puzzle. Where is the old bible I wonder. What does C. V. Compton indicate? V. Compton (which is noted on the chart that it is mostly guesswork). I have some references that are from the bible of Rev. Martin Clark that Williams mother was named Charity but no further proof. Do you have any documentation of the relationship between Henry and William? Clark
