I am looking for information on James H. Compton, born abt 1821 in VA? ....married Jamey, Amy Anna Claypool, d/o Jeremiah Claypool and Charity Miller Van Dyke. Children of Jamey and James H. were: Charity, b: aby 1842 Sebina, b: abt 1844 Jeremiah G. b: abt 1845 Margaret b: abt 1847 Mary Jane, b: abt 1848 George W. b: abt 1850 William A. , b: abt 1853 Sarah Ann, born abt 1855 Amy S.E. born abt 1858 (all these were in the Russell Co Census for 1860. Emma, born 1863 and Columbus born 1863 (twins) The last two were listed in the 1870 census for Doniphan Co Kansas along with their parents and siblings. Charity is the only one listed in 1880, in Pike Co KY....she is listed as a widow in 1870 and 1880. don't know where the others went...none are listed in Doniphan KS in 1880. was told that James and Jamie, died in Doniphan KS, but as yet have not verified this... Does anyone out there, have information on any of these Comptons????
