She is the first child of William Compton (b. 1767, VA; d.7 Oct 1846, Davidson Co.) and Susanna Mullen (b.17 Oct 1776, Hertford Co., NC; d. 28 Jul 1860, Davidson Co.) who were married 7 Oct 1799 in Davidson Co. Elizabeth married my great great grandfather, Hays Blackman (b. 11 Oct 1797, Antioch, Davidson Co.; d. 1873 Antioch), 20 Apr 1826 in Davidson Co. I do not know what the relationship between Henry Compton Sr. and William Compton is, but it is close. They could be brothers, half brothers, cousins, or nephew and uncle. They lived close to each other. In the 1850 census Henry Compton Sr. and his wife, Sarah, live in Dwelling 123; Henry W. Compton and his mother Susanna (William's widow) live in Dwelling 124; and William's sister, Julianna Cartwright, and her husband John live in Dwelling 129. These are next door to each other and a few doors down the street. Felix and James are not far away. Mary Pat please post your data for Elvira Searcy Compton and Thomas Goodman. Dot please post your data for Mary Jane Compton and Jesse Gilman. Baldwin
