COMPTON files I have some information on 4 generations before the COMPTON I start out with here, but it has a lot of speculation. This is what I have: Ebenezer Turrell COMPTON was born on Sep.3,1772 in NY. He went to Rockingham Co.,NC, and to Henry Co.,VA where he married Ailecy HOPPER there on May 6,1794. Ebenezer and Ailecy went to NC and some of their children were born there. About 1811, they were in Adair/Russell Co.,KY area and had the rest of their children there. Ebenezer died Sep.19,1850 and Ailecy died about 1850, both in Russell Co.,KY. The 9 children were: Jordan, Eleanor, Nancy, Mary(Polly), Bethel, Patsey, James R., Julia(Inda), Martha. Julia COMPTON, b.1815, married John Gosser about 1838, and lived in the Russell Co.,KY area, for the rest of their lives. They were my ggg grandparents.
