My niece, Nancy Crumpton Jones, in Savannah gave me a Crumpton button. I'm looking at it now. Her boyfriend obtained it for us. It measures about 3/4 inch in diameter and silver in appearance. It looks like a military button with what appears to be an eagle on the outside (appearance side). On the inside is "Crumpton" . I am told these buttons were made in 1810 or 1811 (possibly Philladelphia or New York) for use my our military in the War of 1812.
