    2. The McNeely Family
    3. I have not seen a copy of Comptonology, and would like comments from people who have. I have a sheet of paper from the late Lottie Compton McDowell that has information about John Compton. There is a notation that it is from p. 106 of Comptonology. This John Compton was in the Revolutionary War and it tells about his service and also appearing in Guilford Co, NC court in 1820. Does it tell in the book where this source of information can be located? If it is documented, would appreciate the source so I can follow it up. Thanks. Lorena in Indiana

    3. Dan, I am new to this list, and I am not familiar with who is included in your line or who you are referring to as your friend in Dallas, GA, but my G G Grandfather was the S.P. Compote you listed in the 1860 Pauling Co. GA census. He ws Simpson P. Compton and his daughter Mary Delane Compton was my G Grandmother. The J.D. you listed is Joel D. Compton, who is reported to be the possible Joel listed as a son of Hezekiah Crumpton (in his will) by The Compton Ancestry Home Page: http://members.xoom.com/desotojohn/ Click on Comptons I am researching. All the Comptons in the 1850 GA census are listed here, also. The E.M. Compton you listed is Eli Mack Compton.. (Listed as Eli M in 1850 and Mack in 1870 GA census) Tina R Achord; tag@eatel.net is a descendant of Joel D. Compton. I have not been able to make the connection to all these Comptons to determine who Simpson P Comptons parents were. If anyone can help with this information I would really appreciate hearing from you. Simpson was listed in the Van Zanat Co, TX census in 1880. I found no other Comptons in the 1880 Van Zanat Co, TX census. I have Simpson, Edwin, and Mack listed in 1870 Pauling Co GA if anyone needs this information. Her Ray family could have come from the Greenville County, SC also; same county as my Luke Crumpton, b. abt 1760. Do you know the father of my Luke? The site includes a searchable register report of all of the known descendants of Allen Compton. On the GENDEX this past week I located a Nathan Compton, b. 1800 SC, d. 1855 Henry Co, IN. Among his 11children was an Allen Compton. Although the author didn't have additional detail, I found it interesting that the Nathan Compton had a son named Allen Compton and my wife has an ancestor named Allen Compton who has a son named Nathan A.
