Action, and bond is by Margaret Acton. >> I AM CONFUSED - did you mean Catty Compton was born "Feb 10, 1762"? Obviously, she could not have married Ratliff Thompson before he was born. Similarly, she couldn't have been born in 1797 as you indicate Barbara March posted. My records indicate Ratliff and Catty were married in 1797. Does any of this make sense? Jim Farrar

Just for the sake of those who might be interested, I am finishing a book I have been writing for the last few months. The book is southern humor oriented and is primarily the tale of a fictional family reunion of the Comptons from the south. If any of your subscribers would like to contribute any humorous tales that they would like to see in print I would be glad to consider them. If they are interested in details of publishing date and other pertinent details, they may e mail me and I promise a reply to all. Thank you for the work you do and look for "interesting" Christian names of Comptons to show up in the book. Compton and my Father was James L. Compton, sadly I cannot claim those from Galveston, but it is a might discouraging to hear of the cause of death. I live in Pensacola FL and we have been mighty popular with the hurricanes of late. I do know my Great Aunt Goldie Compton spent her entire life in Texas. As to her linkage and place of origin, this I do not know.My Father was born in Yazoo City MS. If there are any links to the Comptons in that area, I would be of interest. His Father was Joseph Pyle Compton. That is as far back as I go. My Grandfather had 2 brothers that I know of, Charles and Arthur. I know Joseph P. Compton was born in 1902, in MS but where and the month and day, I do not know. 1. Compton Quarterly
    2. Ive received request for 25 sets of the Quarterly. I have not yet had copies made so I dont know what the cost will be. I plan to get by a copy shop today and get prices. Will let the list know the cost. There are a total of 59 pages per set. I would guess about $.10 per page for copying, staple, etc. an estimate would be roughly $6.00 plus postage. Will let everyone know asap. If anyone else wants copies let me know today - I plan to make only enough copies for those who have asked for them. Clark
