    3. Hello Moffat! I don't know if the last msg came through or not, so forgive me if this is redundant. I am seeking information on my gr.grandparents. Frank and Nellie Scherrueble. They moved from Madrid, NM. to Craig, CO. abt 1910-1920 and he became some sort of judge in Craig. She ran a boarding house. They had 9 children. Frank immigrated from Bavaria, Germany and she came from Ireland as a baby. Her maiden name was D'Lee. He left with his eldest son (my grandfather ) and moved to Washington State abt 1920-give or take a couple of years. She stayed and died in Craig, CO. abt 1940. She may have divorced him and remarried, but that is only a guess. If anyone has any information about them or anyone named D'Lee or Scherrueble it would be so wonderful! I've hit the worst dead-end in 1 1/2 years. Thank you very much! Kathy Ellis [email protected] Everett, WA.

    3. I appreciate the suggestion that I get newspaper article pertaining to Samuels death. Perhaps I should explain why I've not gone the newpaper route to find my Johnson. The letter quoting 1895 was written 60 years after the event. The thought comes to mind: Why was that man reading a Cincinnatti paper. He's not from Cinn. nor is his wife. He is 150 miles from Cinn. but he is 70 miles from Columbus. To search the 112 rolls of film for 1894-95-96 for both cities would take about the same amount of hours. (I'm a fast reader). These are interlibrary loan rolls. At $12.00 per hour for someone to take care of my husband , $3.00 per roll even if found the right roll in the first 25 rolls Its a "no way Jose". Ohio Historical Soc will not do newspaper research. I appreciate the suggestion tho. I was really hoping that someone could tell me if the various counties have books of death records. Should have asked that question. Please consider it asked. I thought as this man may have had a family in Colo: Perhaps someone would recognize their ancestor. I want to thank all of you for reading my query. And for the replies I've gotten. Especially those who took the time to check materials that they owned to find my evasive grandparent. 3. I am posting this to warn others about problems with ; Census Microfilm Expeditors 476 E. South Temple , Suite 4 Salt Lake City , UT 84111 website ; www.censusmicrofilm.com e-mail ; [email protected] and ; [email protected] I was lured to order several microfilm copies from this company with "guarantees" of "speedy delivery" and "low price" . My order was placed in October of 1998 and as of this posting I have not received the order or a refund after numerous contacts with Steven Jensen at this firm . In his occasional replies he repeatedly gave false information to me as to the status of the order and cashed the check when mentioned stopping payment on it .I have copies of all documents and correspondences for those interested . Complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the United States Postal Inspectors , they have informed me that even they can't order this company to give a refund , but may seek criminal charges . I guess small claims court is next . If you are seeking genealogy resources......consider my experiences with this "Firm". Thank you , Kenneth Sartin researching ; Sartin , Sartain , Sarton , Sarten , Sardin etc. etc.

    3. Am resending this because I'd forgotten that it was necessary to subscribe to these mailing lists. And I've now subscribed. Looking for a Johnson needle in the Colorado haystack. Samuel (also used Abraham) Johnson was born c 1823 in Ohio. He mar. 1849 Sarah NEWELL, had one son ASA, div. in 1851, mar Virginia HALL in 1851. About 1879 he left her and their two daughters and went to Colo. According to a granddau c 1895 a article was in Cinncinnatti paper asking for the whereabouts of ASA and his two sisters, Rosa/Rosannah, mar CONLEY, Lucy mar?YATES or ?BURNFIELD. This was in regards to an estate in Colo. No one knows where the estate was nor Samuels exact death date. So far as is known the children never looked into matter. The two daus. may not seen a Cinncinnatti paper. I think one had moved to WV by that time. ASA had his own troubles. It is not known whether there was a third mar. in Colo. Can anyone give me suggestions as to where to look? Is there a unclaimed estate dept. in Colo? Any help will be most appreciated. L Grantham [email protected] All I want is when and where did Samuel die? Did he have a third family? A divorce record was never found for Virginia (HALL) JOHNSON but she did remar. As did his first wife. Thank you all for your patience
