Hi, Silver Cliff is in Custer County, located far up in the mountains of south-central Colorado, comprises in greater part the thee famous Wet Mountains Valley, which lies between the lofty Sangre de Cristo range on the west, and the Greenhorn (Wet Mountain) range on the east. Silver Cliff was the county seat until 1929 when it was moved to Westcliff.I maintain that there is no more beautiful scenery to be found in the world than that in Custer county. The mines in Silver Cliff were discovered in 1878 and the town of Silver Cliff was soon under way. Silver Cliff gradually declined until it was almost reached the classification of "Ghost Town". There is now new growth in the valley with new penitentiaries being built in the area. It is located Southwest from Colorado Springs. I think that Custer County as a home page. Hope this helps.
