Thomas Moores obit. said that he purchased 200 acres on the mesa in the vacinity of the John Ashenfelter ranch. His obit has him coming to Montrose in 1885. Thomas is my great-great-great-grandfather Arthur, Idas brother is my great-great-granfather. Montrose was founded in 1882 so im not sure what info. we could look for. His obit also states that he lived in Iowa Taylor County so it would probably be easier to get a census from there to pinpoint the time he left there to come here.
