Hope someone can help!! Teri ------- Forwarded Message Follows ------- From: JRobi13349@aol.com Date sent: Fri, 4 Jun 1999 21:20:30 EDT Subject: Joseph T. Mason To: pastor751@greenapple.com The above was my grandfather who passed away April 5, 1938. His Residence was 1 mile west and 2 miles North of Montrose . He was married to Iva Mason and left behind 4 childred, Marquis william, Millie, Bob or Robert and Ruth, there was a stepdaughter by the name of Agnes, Married name Rudent. He was buried in the Grandbiew Cem. on April 7, with Montrose Funeral Home in attendance. There were other Mason's in and around Montrose at this time period which was to be related to me. Also there was a place called Longpark, Co. somewhere around Uravan Co. which was a place where some relation lived. This is about all that I know about my Grandparent, and as in earlier years I did now listen too much to my dads stories of his past and there was not much for after his father died he did not get along with his stepmother and left home at an early age. Now ,of course, that he's gone I would like to know more and am looking for any help I can get to locate any of his side of the family. I know that Joseph lived in Bernie, Mo. where My grandmother passed away and is buried there. He moved to Montrose in 1930 If there is anything I can do to find out this information I would like to do so. I have been to records but have now found what I am looking for. Thank you for any help you can give me. - ------------------------------------- Terry (Phil 4:13) Teri (Ps 37:5) To God be the glory! My mother Flora Ann BRISBIN was born in Plateau City, Mesa Co 17 May 1919 to Ray Arthur BRISBIN and Edna (Wimer) BRISBIN. It is reported that other members of the BRISBIN family were present in Plateau City in this period, possibly Milton S BRISBIN, brother of Ray. It is possible that Ray and Milton's mother Marion (Wounch or Wouch) Brisbin was present as well, or an aunt Ann (Wounch or Wouch) TOWER. Either the mother or the aunt reportedly died in Plateau City in 1920. Any assistance on this family would be immensely appreciated. The are difficult ones for me to get a grip on. don in laos <dronk@laonet.net>
Hello, My gr-grandparents were married in Montrose, Montrose Co., in 1894. They were Swedish and I understand would've attended a Lutheran church if there was one in the area in the 1890's. Can anyone tell me what the local churches were in that period and, if possible, where their old registers might be kept? I am hoping the registers will include the original village/parish the immigrants came from originally in Sweden. This family moved to a tiny village called Ophir, in San Miguel Co., before 1903. Again, were there any local churches near this village? Researching: FREDLUND, HAKANSON/HOKANSON in Montrose, Montrose Co.; Golden, Jefferson Co.; Durango, LaPlata Co.; Ophir, San Miguel Co. Here is some better information on birth and death certificates. Birth certificates for anywhere in Colorado from 1957-present are available, and all Mesa County records. The cost is $15, plus $6 each for additional certified copies of the same record, payable by cash, check or money order. You need full name, father's name, mother's maiden name, date of birth, place of birth, your relationship, and the reason for your request. You also need ID according to the recording. For death certificate, which is the same cost, you need full name, date of death, date of birth, father's name, mother's maiden name, and relationship. I imagine if you don't know all the information, they would probably still be able to retrieve the records. The address is: Mesa County Health Department PO Box 20,000 Grand Junction CO 81502-5033 The office, where records may be picked up in person with the above information, is at 515 Patterson Rd. The phone number is (970)248-6959. I hope I kept all that straight! Michael Fisk

If the county does have records, the address would be: Mesa County Health Department 515 Patterson Rd Grand Junction, CO 81506 There was also a census taken in 1885. I believe the local Family History Center has a copy. I make no promises for how soon, but I will check and see if John is on that record on my next trip there.

I've had one person upset with me for using the list, but I had to get the good news out. Ashley Taggart has been found! Praise the Lord! The news broke at about 5:30, during the regular news report so all the details have not been released. All I understand is that she has been held somewhere in or close to her own neighborhood the entire time. The man is in custody. Ashley was at the hospital with her parents at the time of the news release. I believe that she is fine. Again, thank you so much for your prayers! Hi, Check out this site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~cophotos/index.htm Joan in CO
I found out there wasn't a website up for Ashley so we have put one up. For updates, please go to that page. I will get whatever information I get on the web as soon as I get it. http://www.greenapple.com/~pastor751/Ashley.html People are still handing out flyers. Yellow helium balloons are tied at just about every house for two blocks. I took over all of the answers that all of you have sent to me for the family to see. I wanted them to know how many people area out there praying for them and their little one. Thank you for caring.
