I have some lookup requests. I would appreciate any help. Two are obituaries, but the last would entail a visit to the courthouse I guess. I have tried to send for a birthcerificate from the state without parents names before and they send the request back. I understand the obituary for Develva doesn't list her parents name, but I haven't been able to get a copy so I don't know. If someone can go to the courthouse and get the listing for her birth there, maybe I can order it from the state. If someone wants to get it from the courthouse, I would be glad to send them the money to pay for the certificate. I think it is $15.00 per certificate. Dear Listmembers, This week, I received a very lovely official piece of paper that looks like a certificate, raised seal and everything, stating that a birth record couldn't be found!! I think what's happened is that possibly, the baby wasn't named at registration and because I don't have the parents name, I wasn't given anything! I've had others that this has happened to. I have a Margaret LaVate BORDER, born at Tingley, IA on July 23, 1909. What I'm hoping that what can be done is for someone to look at the county records for me in Montrose. Margaret died at the hospital there March 11 of either 1955 or 1965. The transcription of her obit says 1965 and the one for her husband says 1955. I am hoping that her parents names are on the death records. Then maybe I can find her birth. I would sure appreciate any help!
