    3. Teri, I'm on another list that does the automatic posting. Personally, I like it! I don't have the time to keep checking the boards often, and doing it this way not only keeps me updated, but saves me some time ... plus (I guess I got lucky), several have been interesting enough for me to contact the submitters. There aren't a lot of them, probably no more than 20 for all for counties per month. My questions to you is this. Do you want these postings to come to the mailing list for all to see, or would you rather they stay like they are and you go check them out yourself periodically? Please give me your input. Teri

    1. [COMESA] [COGEN-L] Colorado Cemeteries
    2. Terry & Teri Cleaveland
    3. (Found in my travels) Mary Ann (et al) Leon has completed the Colorado Council of Genealogical Societies' "Active Colorado Cemeteries" index. It is on-line in the CCGS pages at http://www.rootsweb.com/~coccgs/co-cemeteries-index.html The CCGS list provides the cemetery name, address, county, point of contact, telephone number, physical location and legal description. It is the "definitive" on-line list of active Colorado Cemeteries. The "Active" list doesn't show the abandoned cemeteries and single/family grave sites that were in the original CCGS "Colorado Cemeteries" (paper/out of print). As with all consolidated lists gathered from various resources, the information needs to be taken with a grain of salt. I noticed several errors in the listing for my part of Colorado. I understand both are buried at Norwood, San Miguel County, Colorado. Ross was born 1917 and died in the fall of 1992. Benjamin died in the mid 1940's and my older brother told me he thought it was 1947. Are you able to give me any information concerning either of them regarding their final resting place, dates of death and perhaps even verify they are indeed in the Norwood Cemetery? 1. [COMESA] [COCHAT-L] Wanted!! Cemetery Headstone Photographs
    2. Terry & Teri Cleaveland
    3. The Colorado USGenWeb Archives has embarked on a project to collect photographs of tombstones in Colorado Cemeteries. The goal is to have an on-line text transcription of Colorado cemetery records and headstones via the Colorado Tombstone Project plus photographs of the headstones via the Colorado Tombstone Photo Project. We are not asking that you adopt a Colorado cemetery, buy a digital camera and photograph every tombstone, although that would be nice <grin>. We are simply asking that you share the photos you already have of headstones that you have taken in Colorado cemeteries during the course of your research. We need "sharp, tightly cropped" photos of headstones taken close enough to read the engraved text instead of general area or family plot cemetery photographs. The project goal is to document the information on the grave markers so researchers who can't visit the cemetery themselves have a "first generation" source for their kin's grave marker in addition to the volunteer text transcriptions. Subscribers with headstone photos to donate please contact me directly for submission details. 3. Hi, The Mesa County Genealogical Society read all of the newspapers in the area, starting with the very first one, and typed cards for all reported deaths. The file is very extensive but some are missing. Some people "needed" the information and have helped themselves to the cards. :-( The other problem is that not all deaths were written up in the paper. Good Luck.
