I am researching Harland D. SCARLETT who arrived in the Delta/Olathe County around 1900 Hattie TALLMAN - was on the Delta 1885 census age 15. She was my great-grandmother. Never have been able to figure out where she came from or was born. We think Missouri or Iowa. Hattie KILLEN - married to Harland SCARLETT's father Samuel. I could use any info on this family. John Jefferson MARSH - father to Anne, Maggie, Jennie, Ella. My grandmother is Anne. All settled and died in the Delta/Olathe area. SUMNER - two of the above mentioned sisters married SUMNER brothers. Anyone have or know of these folks, I have some info that I would be glad to share. Betty E-mail: betty.baker@usa.net

Hi again, I forgot to mention that Vernetta Guild who died in 1985 in Delta, Co was grandaughter to Frederick Longwell. Her father was James Omar Longwell. She was in contact with my cousin about 20 years ago and diligently worked on our family tree. Thanks Carol
Hi! Well, I joined this group, and then had to leave town, so sorry I have not made any sort of posting until now. I thought I would do a post of the family that I am searching for. The surname would be Longwell. Frederick Longwell was born in Potter Co, Pa in 1871 but died in Montrose Co in 1935. In 1890 the family all moved to Wright Co, Mo, then in 1919, Frederick moved to Colorado. He was married to Martha Crisp. Children: Lottie b 1897 James Omar b 1900, Texas Co, Mo d 1935 in Montrose, Co. Fred Longwell Earl Longwell Anna Longwell Maude Longwell Oliver Rufus Longwell Maggie May Longwell Ada Longwell Frannie Longwell Clarence O Longwell Elmer Z Longwell William Frederick Longwell This is all I have at this time. Would anyone happen to know anything about any of the Longwell family? Thanks Carol Miller
This week I have added over 950 new listings to the 17th Century Residents Data Base and have increased the download speed. Take a look for your elusive ancestors. This is a FREE Data Base open to everyone. The Data Base is limited to postings on Colonial residents, of any name, who were here in this country during the 1600's. You will also find listings of family lines that have been accepted by various societies and organizations throughout the years. The 17th CENTURY RESIDENTS DATA BASE is located at: http://www.linkline.com/personal/xymox/ This data base was designed by me and I maintain it with new additional listings on Thursdays. The best to you all. Hi Teri, Eagalite or Clover are probably what you are looking for. If you want you can check out the gnis links with maps to Mesa county cemeteries from the Mesa county COGenWeb main page. http://www.rootsweb.com/~comesa/ -- Russ Herre mailto:rusherr@gj.net
I would like the anme of the cemetery in Collbran, please. Wynona was kind enough to send me the obituaries, some time ago, but I was looking them over and can't find the anme. I would like to visit it while there next month. Thanks! List members, We now number 22, I hope that we will be growing fast! I know that it has been slow, and I'm sure that will change a little once summer is over and people are through traveling around. If any of you know of different sources that can be purchased in any of our four counties, please let me know. I will be over there in August and I hope to be able to vist the county seats and genealogical museums and/or libraries. Of course that all depends on when the new grandson makes his arrival known. He's making noises about that already and he's not due until Aug.29th!! If you have something very specific that I can help with, I am not going to do a lot of research because of time constraints, but I may be able to pick up something for you. Mesa County is fairly large and I'm sure that there are people that will help you. Wynona, you have been wonderful to me... I am almost positive that I will at least make it to Montrose and I am hoping San Miguel. I'm still not sure about Dolores. Does anyone know off the top of their head if there was a Hotel Oxford Wilder's in Grand Junction about 1914? -- Russ Herre mailto:rusherr@gj.net
I know that many of you will see this information on other lists, but I wanted to make sure you understood just how much Rootsweb is invloved in our research projects and how much we owe to them for providing us with services! Teri ------- Forwarded Message Follows ------- Reply-to: "Dr. Brian Leverich" <leverich@rootsweb.com> Subject: RootsWeb in June -- 1,200,000 Hits Per Day Date: Wed, 08 Jul 1998 13:12:36 -0700 From: Brian Leverich <leverich@rootsweb.com> To: listowners-announce@rootsweb.com June was a hectic month at RootsWeb because we significantly upgraded our main Web server, at the cost of: o A lot of money o Several downs of the server o Lots of sleep missed, vats of coffee consumed and several stomach linings destroyed We also brought the new homepages.rootsweb.com server online, which will provide home pages for individual genealogists once we're satisfied with its operation. The executive summary is that RootsWeb had more than 20% absolute growth in the last four months, but that's deceptively low because of the downtime while we upgraded the main server. Here are the detailed statistics on our June operations: o 35,930,194 total Web hits: - 10,166,861 were HTML pages. - 6,010,657 were cgi-bin database searches and such. - 19,514,782 were graphics (gifs, jpegs, etc). o 779,280 FTP file downloads from the USGenWeb Archives and the ROOTS-L Library. o Thanks to a neat hack by Tim Pierce, we know we shipped more than 77,000,000 pieces of e-mail to our mailing lists. (The 77 million is actually much too low; we had to archive a significant amount of mail before the count because of a disk space crunch on one of the mail servers ... ) o 60,000 alt.g and s.g.* Usenet News articles to hosts on three continents. o Approximately 660,960,000,000 bytes in total. As always, RootsWeb remains supported by user contributions. Folks who would like to become a RootsWeb Member or Sponsor (the cost is very modest) are invited to visit: http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/how-to-subscribe.html *** You can become a Member easily using your credit card and our new secure server. *** Support from the Internet genealogical community is *crucial* to RootsWeb's operation. Also, we would like to publicly thank Palladium Interactive, publishers of the superb Ultimate Family Tree software, for their support of RootsWeb: http://www.palladium.net/ Thanks to everyone who participates in RootsWeb -- clearly folks are continuing to exchanging a great deal of information! -B -- Dr. Brian Leverich Co-moderator, soc.genealogy.methods/GENMTD-L RootsWeb Genealogical Data Cooperative http://www.rootsweb.com/ P.O.
