    1. [Colombia] Study in the Social Impacts of DNA Ancestry Testing
    2. Natasia Wright
    3. *Apologies for Cross/Re-Posting* Hello! Professor Wendy Roth in the Department of Sociology at the University of British Columbia is doing a research study on the social impacts of DNA ancestry testing -- especially whether it has any effect on identities and attitudes. This may have already been posted to this list, as some members of this group have graciously assisted with this study. We are still looking for participants, especially people with any Native American, Black, Hispanic, or Asian roots. We're looking to talk with people with a wide range of experiences to DNA ancestry testing, so we'd be very interested in learning about your experiences regardless of whether the test results had much influence on you or not. If you have taken a DNA ancestry test and would be willing to help with this project, would you fill out a quick online survey at: http://faculty.arts.ubc.ca/wroth/SurveyIntro.html It should only take you about 10-15 minutes. It focuses on why you chose to take the test, your background, your experience with genetic genealogy testing, and how the results may have affected you. You can fill out the survey anonymously, or if you are interested in talking more about these the social impacts of DNA ancestry testing, you can choose to be contacted for a follow-up interview as well. These interviews are done over the phone and are confidential. If you would like to be contacted for a follow-up interview, you can enter your contact information at the end of the survey. But regardless of whether you are interested in the follow-up interview, I hope you will complete the quick online survey. Thank you very much for considering this. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Prof. Wendy Roth at wroth@interchange.ubc.ca or at (604) 822-4845. You can also contact Natasia Wright, Research Assistant on this project, at natasia.social.impacts@gmail.com.

While it is quite possible that an old website has Moved or no longer exists, it is also possible that the website is Still there, but the specific page link has changed. Try "backing up" or removing the ending of the URL and leaving only The domain. For example, if the broken link is http://www.rootsweb.com/~palackaw/marriages/marriage44.html, try going To http://www.rootsweb.com/~palackaw/marriages/ or http://www.rootsweb.com/~palackaw/. You could find a new link to the Data you are seeking from this page of the website. 1. [COLOMBIA] [ADMIN] Welcome!
    2. manaia alofa
    3. Welcome! I am Manaia Alofa the list administrator for Rootsweb's COLOMBIA mailing list. You can contact me personally at COLOMBIA-admin@rootsweb.com. A mailing list for genealogy queries and research dealing with Colombia (NS South America). I give a wide latitude to list discussion because I believe that the list is here as a research tool for you, the subscriber. However there are some things that should not be posted to the list: 1. Remember that all messages to the list are archived by Rootsweb and can be seen by *anyone* at any time by clicking on the Archives link on the Rootsweb home page. Keep that in mind and look your message over carefully before clicking on "Send". If you wouldn't want your mom, spouse, best friend, or clergyperson reading what you wrote, you probably should send the message privately. 2. E-Mail Forwards that are Virus-warnings, Jokes, Chain Letters, etc., no matter how dire, funny or how worthy the cause. If you think the list needs to hear about it, then please email me personally for my thoughts. 3. Flames or rude emails critizing another subscriber's posting. If someone makes a mistake and it is a problem, I will take care of it. This is a list for including people, not excluding them. We need to all work together to solve our research problems. .... Again, Welcome and Enjoy! --Manaia [List-Admin] COLOMBIA-admin@rootsweb.com ++++ --- mailman-owner@rootsweb.com wrote: The mailing list 'colombia' has just been created. :: snip :: Regards, RootsWeb.com Listmaster Listmaster@rootsweb.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
