He was born in Cawker City, Kansas on 1 Aug, 1905. He is reported to have been the common lay husband of Margaret " Maggie " H. MCGUFFEY of Sterling, Logan,Colorado. He is said to have died in a drowning accident in 1951, while trying to save a step son, Eugene MCGUFFEY from drowning. He is buried in the Riverside cemetery in Sterling.
