Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Tennant Funeral Home. A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Fleming United Methodist Church with the Rev. Al Strauss presiding. Inurnment will follow at Fleming Cemetery. Mr. Barkley was born July 13, 1941, in Fleming to William L. and Nora (Boehme) Barkley. He graduated from Fleming High School in 1959 and attended Colorado State University. In 1961 he married Doris Frank. He was a self-employed as a farmer and real estate agent. He was a member of the Sterling Elks Club, Haxtun American Legion, National Pony Express Association and Fleming Saddle Club, and served on the Fleming Rural Fire Board and Fleming Co-op Board. He was a member of Fleming United Methodist Church. Mr. Barkley is survived by his wife, Doris C. Barkley; three children, Wendy L. Schulz of Kersey, Eric William Barkley of Fleming, and Rick Allen Barkley of Fleming; one brother, Bob Barkley of Greeley; and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Fleming United Methodist Church.
